AI use policy

With the advancement of technology the tattoo industry has grown exponentially, with the early introduction of websites, browsing the internet to photoshop, iPads, digital cameras and social media — whatever helps run the shop, reach people and share work. AI is just the latest of those tools, and it is used the same way: for organizing, marketing, video, and adding a bit of flair to branded content and social imagery. It’s powerful stuff, and it earns its place in everyday life.

But there is a line, and it doesn’t move.

AI will not be used to design tattoos. It will only be used to enhance images during the creation process when higher resolution is needed. No AI-generated designs will go on the skin, only accepted as reference ideas. AI can’t reliably make the final tattoo-ready design. Tattoos need to work on a moving body, at a real size, with real line weight, real healing, and real long-term readability. That still takes a human artist. That part is what the industry would love people to understand before they get emotionally attached to a machine-made masterpiece with zero respect for skin, healing, or the laws of physics. That’s not being precious about progress. It’s the whole point of being an artist — creation. The satisfaction of making things ourselves, with our own hands, from nothing. If we give a machine the part we love most, the act of creation, then there’s nothing left worth doing. Your tattoo is permanent, and you can rest assured a human made it, start to finish.
